Oskar Hagen
Oskar is an evolutionary biologist and ecologist at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) and Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (WSL). His background is in conservation biology, environmental sciences and informatics. Originally from Brazil, Oskar has investigated the impacts of artificial illumination on firefly populations in Atlantic rain forests over the years. Currently he investigates the role of past environmental conditions and eco-evolutionary feedbacks in shaping biodiversity gradients.

Luiz Silveira
Luiz Silveira is a post-doc at Dr. Kathrin Stanger-Hall's lab. Luiz has an inordinate fondness for fireflies, their diversity, ecology and evolutionary history. His research includes natural history, systematics, comparative morphology, morphometrics, community ecology and biogeography. He is now especially interested in firefly speciation, a subject that will interweave all of his interests.
